Basic Sourdough Bread

Absolutely the best! Soft crust and well risen.


  • 1 1/4 cups sourdough starter
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons bread machine yeast


  1. 1Allow starter to come to room temperature.
  2. 2Place all ingredients in the bread machine in the order suggested by the manufacturer.
  3. 3Select Basic or White Bread cycle, and Medium crust setting. Start.
