Mustard Wheat Rye Sandwich Bread
This is a great sandwich bread. Makes a great grilled cheese or Rueben sandwich! I like to form this bread in a round circle, and bake free form in the la cloche!
- 1 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
- 1/2 cup Dijon-style prepared mustard
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 tablespoons molasses
- 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup rye flour
- 2/3 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 tablespoons vital wheat gluten
- 2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1Place all the ingredients in the bread machine pan in the order suggested by the manufacturer.
- 2Select Basic or White Bread setting, and start the machine.
This is a lightly sweetened wheat bread that you can experiment with a bit. Try varying the ratio of whole wheat flour to bread flour to see what suits you best.
Almost equal proportions of rye and bread flour make for a hearty rye flavor in this softly honeyed loaf that 's speckled with caraway seeds.

These are wheat free, dairy free, low sugar, low fat muffins and you'd never know it. Sucant is dried can juice. It can be found in health food stores. If you don't eat them in the first two days, freeze them. Thaw in microwave for 30 seconds apiece and they will taste freshly baked.
